Michelangelo quotes “In every block of marble I see a statue as plain as though it stood before me, shaped and perfect in attitude and action. I have only to hew away the rough walls that imprison the lovely apparition to reveal it to the other eyes as mine see it.”
From a statue already existing may the sculpture bring forth a better world where magic still exists….
Now that worlds ending has been averted
What we need most is to be alerted
Of news and actions less perverted
To children once more converted
Knowing that we are not deserted
Before from this world we are departed
Let go thoughts and fears fainthearted
Seek adventures and worlds uncharted
Knowing that you will be supported
If fairy tales with happy endings are asserted
Like frozen statue wake again, reincarted
From this year let life be rewarded

Even Gaia adjusts to change with each season
While we, lacking understanding, seek a reason
Why comfortable lives suddenly disrupted
Often just when we have adjusted
With passing time the why seems clear
Memories fade of past held so dear
Now enjoy what once was dread
A brand new journey away from path once lead
Sip the wine from autumn grapes fermented
That left on vine would fall to earth lamented

So many options that I might have chosen for this weeks Weekly Photo Challenge.
However, this one immediately and always comes to mind.
Although not perfectly taken, the result benefited from the less than perfect focus. Here the reflection and the reality meld into one. It always makes me think of my amazement during my visit to the Musée d’Orsay. What Monet was trying to capture in Lilies and other paintings. Or even more specatacular the cicular display of his works at Orangerie.
What Monet was trying to capture in Lilies and other paintings.
Not so much reality but a reflection or his impression of reality.
First weekend of glorious snow. Let others complain about the arrival of winter as clouds let loose on us – whether liquid or frozen We decide to strap on our boards and head to where we can enjoy it. With over 60 cm (or over 20 inches) of frozen alabaster in 48 hours here is one reminder of why we live where we do…..white is my world!
White is my world
Clouds racing over jagged peaks in their haste
Release ethereal flakes of diamonds in their wake
That trees weave like silken thread into ivory gloves.
And Earth wraps like feather down from above
Breath in the icy air as you come alive
Legs like spring released we strive
To catch and hold heaven’s blessed snowy flake
