LifesAnchor

Once I sailed the oceans deep
Below the crew rested easy in their sleep
Ever returning safely back to land
Captain seeking lighted bean avoided hidden sand
 —-
Rode the waves from Neptune’s fork
Sails filled with wind  mast stalwart
Crossed the seas and round the capes
Over ocean and through the straights
—-
Voyagers carried from distant  ports
Exotic wares from foreign lands I did escort
Now my hull has sunk to oceans depth
Naught but  iron cross of me is left
—–
Treasures now but memorries and forgotten lore
For those who brave this rocky shore
Think hard as you  gaze on remains of me
What will anchor your short life’s  legacy
