or just a defunct AirTag 😟
After an uneventful, but long flight, we arrived in Rome. After 50 some years of travel the gods, of which we will have more to say , decided we needed to pay tribute.

Using local transport when jet lagged was not the best decision. On arrival at our destination at this ancient site, we were lacking our wallet. A tired traveller sandwiched by the denizens of Rome allowed a quick fingered thief to abscond with our hard earned cash, etc.
So we may be brief in our updates as we concentrate on more mundane activities- dealing with Italian police…who may look cool in their Alfa Romeo cars and knee high boots…but present a more disdainful and bureaucratic face to dealing with petty crime of “idiotic” tourists.
Good news for Apple aficionados….AirTags work. Within minutes of leaving the bus I got an alert noting my wallet was not near my person. So we could react quickly in contacting the necessary parties.
Sadly all we could do is watch as the Apple app showed the item quickly moving away from our lives. Ultimately finding its less than perpetual final destination in a refuse bin in the Eternal City.
But we are alive and well so hope to have more cheerful news soon.
