Did someone say Bon Appetite or to be more appropriate in Japanese….

Itadakimasu (いただきます)

And despite being an hour late on arrival the passage through the airport and getting on the AirPort Express was very quick.

So we made it to our first meal at an izakaya – just in time for our reservation.

We were the only non Japanese there and sitting at the counter allowed to see the action while waiting for food.

Our waiter had limited English and my few words in Japanese did not help a lot. But he was patient and we got our order sorted.

The food was excellent and the atmosphere very enjoyable. All in all a great start…

Of course a few cups of sake helped remove the dust from our 10 hour plus journey and ease us into genteel slumber.

Sleep will rejuvenate us and prepare us to start our new day tomorrow.
