Takes something special to appeal to both up and coming youth fashion as well as jet set fashion. Add a dash of animal emotional support “sanctuary” cafes – that’s Harajuka.

The focal point of Harajuku’s teenage culture is by Takeshita Street – Takeshita- Dori.

With its side streets, lined by many trendy shops, fashion boutiques, used clothes stores, crepe stands and fast food outlets, it is the place for the fashion and trend-conscious teens.

South of Takeshita Dori and over twice its length is Omotesando, a broad, tree-lined avenue sometimes referred to as Tokyo’s Champs-Elysees. Here you can find famous brand name shops, cafes and restaurants for a more “discerning” clientele.

We also sought out the famous Cat Street to commune with felines as we imbibed a frothy matcha latte in zen meditation. Alas no where to be found and the puppy cafe was filled to capacity.

“Piggy” Emotional support

We were tempted by the cuteness of baby piglets snorting around patrons sitting on the floor, but finally discovered and opted for the world famous Eataly.

Founded as a multi-story temple to food in Rome with locations in NYC and other cities, we were happy to find a location right here in Harajuku.

Nothing says emotional comfort more than Italian food…,

True emotional comfort
